Hummingbird: New algorithm for Google Search Engine

Each and every year Google changes its search algorithm around 500-600 times. But many of those changes are not so significantly contributed. Google occasionally throws out a major algorithmic update such as Panda and Penguin that has really make significant changes in Google search engine. So, again it publicized a new brand algorithm for its search engine known as “Humming Bird Algorithm” on the eve of its 15th birthday.

Google is trying to keep pace with the rapid change of Internet usage. As the search queries get more complicated the traditional algorithm degrades the results of the search engine as there is a need to match the concepts not just to match the words. So Google’s Hummingbird is quite different of these traditional algorithms. This Google’s Hummingbird algorithm will provide more precise and faster results of your query. This algorithm will consider your query as a whole and will focus on the semantic of the query and provides results according to user’s intent and not on individual search terms.

Unlike Panda and Penguin algorithm that has been updated to its existing algorithm, Google’ Hummingbird is completely changed. Search results we used to get in these current years were based on the combination of words that our phrase or query use to contain and not the actual concept or the meaning of it. But this new algorithm is paying more concentration to each word in a query and the complete phrase and the meaning of it is taken into account and the results are provided.

Google’s Hummingbird will take the keywords like how, why, when, where into more consideration in the queries with the content keywords. This shows how this algorithm will lay emphasis on the search results and provides you accurate results.

With this new algorithm Google has create the ability to deal with more and more complex phrases by understanding the meaning of the users query and to link the relationship of the search queries in a better way which will enriched the knowledge graph of the search engine.
